PTI FIELD CASE TAGGING TRIALS SUCCESSFUL

We always do thorough beta testing before each new software release. Fully integrated PTI-style case tagging is no exception. Over the past few months we have conducted numerous field trials. To hear about one of them watch this short video with HMC's Director of IT, Michael Toms:

PTI-STYLE CASE TAGGING STANDARD IN RELEASE 116

Beginning with Famous Software Version 116.00, case level PTI tagging and GTIN tracking are standard features. Track-and-trace capabilities are supported for field pack, shed pack, and repacked product. PTI compliant tracking happens automatically at receiving entry for product you grow and for purchased product. Watch this demonstration of key case level tagging options:

RECEIVING

To use an existing estimate for receiving, select it from the Receiving List. Receive grower or purchased product this way. When inventory arrives specify the field, lot, and product - as represented by different sizes, for example. Famous retrieves corresponding GTIN information and displays tag details using values and rules that you have defined. Finally, Famous prints pallet tags along with the correct quantity of PTI case tags. Logistics labels (hybrid tags) can also be printed.

  • Applies GTIN information from your built-in translation table
  • Assigns a GS1 lot number
  • Adds properly-formatted GS1 dates

FIELD PACK

Whenever you save estimate entries Famous preprints the correct quantity of case labels, which can be carried to the field by the harvest supervisor and applied by the harvest crew. When field-packed cases arrive at the cooler, simply print and apply pallet tags and logistics labels since the case tags are already in place.

SHED PACK

Shed tagging is just as easy; and is also fully integrated. In addition to pallet tags, Famous automatically prints the correct number of PTI case tags.

  • GTIN information populates for each specified product
  • GS1 Lot and GS1 Date entries populate automatically as well
  • Case tags and a pallet tag will print when the entry is saved

REPACK/RESTYLE

Just as with packing or receiving entry, when you save transactions the appropriate quantity of case tags will be printed using GTIN numbers, G21 Lot numbers, and GS1 dates that are all automatically populated for you.

  • GS1 Lots and dates automatically populate for you in repacking entries
  • When the transaction is saved, case and pallet tags are printed

NEW REPORTS AND SEARCH FEATURES

To facilitate mock recall exercises and to answer any questions from your trading partners or government agencies, we’ve enhanced our already robust inventory reporting. GTINs and GS1 data have been added to many reports. You can easily search using GS1 data as well.
