Sales Order Entry

Collect and organize the myriad of real time details associated with a customer's order. Tabs simplify the task of navigating all products, shipping options, charges, and notes relating to an order. Sales order changes immediately update your available-to-sell quantities. Famous prompts for missing, required information when users attempt to save their work.

Charges

Track and allocate charges as they are incurred. Apply charges to single or multiple product lines.

  • Freight (FOB or Calculated)
  • Auto Charges (i.e. promotional charges)
  • Quick Charges (flow directly to A/P)

Standard Order Templates

For each customer you can create and save standard sales order templates that contain such attributes as salesperson, sales terms, payment terms, broker, etc. Templates can also contain products frequently ordered by customers, ship-to addresses, and so on.

Copy Orders

The Copy Order feature enables salespeople to duplicate previous orders and either place them again or modify them.

Comments & Notes

Famous facilitates comprehensive note-taking and makes it easy to specify which comments show on specific documents. You can categorize comments for easy retrieval.

Instant Gross Profit Calculations

Famous lets you specify which charges affect gross margin calculations and automatically updates profit. Charge allocations can be changed at any time and those changes are reflected in real time.

Load Management

Consolidate multiple orders onto individual loads for delivery. Charges such as freight are automatically allocated by quantity, weight, or pallet to each product on each sales order. Combine warehouse transfers and customer sales orders for efficent shipping. Manage and track multiple loads through delivery and completion.

Customer Credit Information

Prevent accidental order-taking for delinquent or over-limit customers. Specify how rigorously credit rules are enforced. Monitor both over-dollar amounts and days past due. FOB/Delivered

Easily set up customer sales terms to sell product FOB or Delivered. Utilize Famous to calculate correct customer pricing along with accurate FOB prices on the products you sell.

Consignment & Price After Sale Orders

Famous supports consignment sales and lets you price items after they have been sold. After pricing, correct profitability is recorded.

Reserve Order Number Ranges

You can reserve a range of sales order numbers for a customer before placing the orders. The numbers refer to specified ship dates and sales representatives.

Sales Commissions

The Famous automatic Sales Commission feature computes commissions as a percentage of profit. Computations include profit on purchased products, markups, and pricing adjustments. You can calculate commissions at will. Compensate your sales staff for all invoices, or only for paid invoices. Famous computes net changes that occur after commission payments and then adjusts subsequent commission statements and payments.

Quick Purchases

The Famous Quick Purchases feature enables sales reps to make outside purchases while taking orders. For example, if a customer needs more of a particular apple than you have on hand, an outside purchase can be accomplished as part of the order-taking process.

The Quick Purchases feature can also order and charge buyers for purchased items and services such as transportation fees, temperature recorders, and any other costs associated with an order. Quick purchases automatically create AP entries. No re-keyboarding is necessary.

Famous Integration Services (EDI/HTML)

Eliminate costly and error-prone re-keyboarding. Accept and place orders electronically using the Famous Integration Services (FIS) module. These EDI/XML transactions can take place through iTradeNetwork, FoodLink Online, or directly using Famous Integration Services. Learn more here.

Workflow Automation

Manage the complexities of communicating with trading partners by automatically generating just the documents they require, in the formats they request. The Workflow Task Manager automatically generates appropriate print, e-mail, e-fax, or EDI/XML documents as a result of completed steps. Define multiple destinations for workflow documents:

  • Fax and simultaneously print the same document
  • Print documents to multiple locations
  • E-mail documents to multiple recipients
