• As part of the Software Development group you will take the lead in the creation of the final packaged version of the Famous Application Software. This includes writing programs and scripts to package source code into a deliverable product, managing the source code, and providing systems management to the development and quality assurance database and systems.
• System Testing is a key part of the job and includes testing product installations and upgrades in a variety of configurations and environments.
• You will manage a Build Engineer and work with other Development staff as part of a team, contributing to the overall quality and delivery of the Famous Application Software. Teams are made up of individuals of varying levels of seniority and experience.
• You will be responsible for the vision and direction of the configuration management function as well as the ongoing maintenance of software, scripts, and processes associated with the transition of the product from source code to general release.
• This job involves minimal traditional software development.
• At times this position will require you to do both internal and external customer support.

Qualifications:
The person we are looking for has the following skills and characteristics:

• You may be a current database administrator, configuration management specialist, build engineer, or software engineer.
• You must have a thorough understanding of current database and systems technology, particularly Oracle and Windows.
• Famous Software, LLC uses a team approach to software development. The ability to work with others as part of a team is a key requirement. You must be able to listen to others and communicate your ideas effectively.
• You understand and have a keen interest in this specialized aspect of software engineering, and have a good understanding of software engineering and particularly the configuration and build management aspects of the business.
• Knowledge of Telelogic’s Synergy CM system, Oracle’s database and tools, InstallShield, Java, and PowerBuilder would be an added bonus.
• You are self-motivated and can prioritize your own activities with some guidance and coaching. You can solve problems through discovery and analysis. You need little day-to-day guidance.
• You should possess a degree in Computer Science or similar field. This is an environment appropriate for individuals interested in exposure to a variety of skills and technologies.
