Job Description
The job of Software Build Engineer at Famous Software, LLC includes the following responsibilities:

• As part of the Software Development group you will assist in the creation and testing of the final packaged version of the Famous Application Software. This includes writing programs and scripts to package source code created with a variety of technologies into a deliverable product.
  
  
• Testing is a key part of the job and includes testing product installations and upgrades in a variety of configurations and environments.
  
  
• You will work closely with the Build Manager and other Development staff as part of a team, contributing to the overall quality and delivery of the Famous Application Software. Teams are made up of individuals of varying levels of seniority and experience.
  
  
• You will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance of software, scripts, and processes, which from time to time will require changes and fixes to be applied.
  
  
• You will be involved in the day-to-day administration of both internal and external (customer) databases and servers.
  
  
• This job involves minimal traditional software development.
  
  
• At times this position will require you to do both internal and external customer support.
  

Qualifications
The person we are looking for has the following skills and characteristics:

• You may be a recent graduate or computer science specialist with less than two years experience.
  
  
• Famous Software, LLC uses a team approach to software development. The ability to work with others as part of a team is a key requirement. You must be able to listen to others and communicate your ideas effectively.
  
  
• You understand and have a keen interest in this specialized aspect of Software Engineering. You may have some experience as a software engineer, database administrator, configuration engineer, or build engineer at a software company.
  
  
• You have a good understanding of software engineering and particularly the configuration and build management aspects of the business.
  
  
• Knowledge of Telelogic’s Synergy CM system, Oracle’s database and tools, InstallShield, Java and PowerBuilder would be an added bonus.
  
  
• You are self-motivated and can prioritize your own activities with some guidance and coaching. You can solve problems through discovery and analysis. You need little day-to-day guidance.
  
  
• You should possess a degree in Computer Science or similar field. This is an environment appropriate for individuals interested in exposure to a variety of skills and technologies.
  
  

Compensation
Salary and benefits will be in line with market rates and the individual’s experience.
